  1. Fast Photo's quick custom border feature is crucial.

    Dave, I like the polished look of PhotoAssistant, but without Fast Photo's quick custom border feature, PhotoAssistant is largely useless to me. Fast Photos quick border feature, as well as quick re-sizing, and compression feature, have all been fundamental. Granted, eBay no longer allows borders on photos, but eBay is not the be-all and end-all of my photos. I've found that Fast Photos has been the best photo program out there in allowing me to quickly edit the several thousand images I have in my Windows Photo Gallery.

  2. View Compressed image

    Hi Dave - Thank you for adding the compressed feature back to the save option. This is very useful. I tried it this morning and noticed that although, it compresses the file the new file does not appear on screen. It would be helpful to see the new qualtiy of the compressed file before saving.

    Also, when openning the compressed file the quality seems better that the acctual file. I will send you some screen grabs to show what I mean.

  3. Crop - add ability to draw crop rectangle directly

    As found in some other editors like Adobe PhotoEssentials - draw crop rectangle directly with one click to start then draw out holding mouse down, release mouse to create rectangle

  4. Save PNG, TIFF or BMP files

    It seems that currently the new version only saves JPG files. Need to add other formats.

  5. Add Publish action to upload photos directly via FTP

    The Publish to FTP site feature of Fast Photos was very helpful - I hope that is an upcoming feature for PhotoAssistant.

    When photos are editing do not change the original - automatically make a working copy.

  8. Detect add/remove of memory cards

    This is a missing feature - PhotoPrep should detect when a memory card, floppy, or removable drive is added or removed from the PC and update the drive list.

    At the moment the drive list is created when the app starts up.

    If you want to see drives added after PhotoPrep starts you must restart the app.

  9. Add Auto Crop feature

    Add a way to automatically crop an image, based on detecting the main object in the image.

  10. Add feature to do circular or oval crops

    For example: to use a circular mask as a crop tool (vs rectangle). After crop background is replaced with solid color.

  12. Browse - add ability to show 20-25 thumbnails

    This is on a 20" monitor.

    IE Fewer, larger thumbnails. Maybe add several more sizes...

  13. Add Crop to Size feature

    Crop to size lets you pick the desired final size of your photo in the Crop tool. When you crop the results are cropped to that size. This will save a step if you know that you will need to crop then resize a photo.
